My Design Journey

I have always valued the pursuit of inspiring joy and beauty in others’ lives and advocating for people to live into their full potential. I first pursued this in the healthcare and research field, studying Psychobiology at UCLA and working as a Research Assistant at a neurobiology lab at UCSF. I then transitioned into recruiting to help people land their dream jobs and create lives they love.

Upon discovering UI/UX design while sourcing for the role, I was immediately intrigued as this path also integrated my love for design and creative problem-solving. I sought out tech talks, design workshops, and hackathons and partnered with a non-profit to gain more hands-on, real-world, UI/UX design experience. Several years later, I was hired part-time by this organization as a Product Designer and took on additional projects as a Freelance Product Designer.

I launched a small ceramics business while my husband attended med school in Illinois (IG: OHMK Design) and now teach beginner wheelthrowing classes at South Bay Ceramics. I enjoy growing backyard-to-table produce, cooking and making homemade banchan (Korean side dishes), going hiking with my yellow lab rescue, and exploring new local restaurants and cafes.

Now that I am back in the Bay, I am seeking my next design challenge. If you are interested in working together, let's connect!
